In January of 2024, John Andrew became the lead pastor of Pompey Community Church. He arrived after a few years of transition during a time when the church was prepared and passionate about making, mature, and mobilizing disciples of Jesus among all the nations.

He is married to Christy and together they have two little boys: Levi and Lucas. They enjoy exploring the outdoors, family movie nights, and fun with friends.

He studied Theology and Apologetics at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Biblical Theology from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Christy moved to Syracuse in January 2005 a few months after graduating college.  She has worked as a bookkeeper in a church denominational state office, local Syracuse-based coffee shop, and as assistant bookkeeper at a well-known local apple orchard.  
 
Christy is widowed and has three children, two here on earth and one who went to be with Jesus when she was 18 months old.

She loves a good cup of coffee, sewing, traveling, and up cycling furniture that has been found on the side of the road or thrown away (trash to treasure).

Jen has been a dedicated preschool teacher for close to 30 years here at Pompey Community Church's Country Critters Pre-School program. In her words: "My passion is early childhood education and I have spent decades creating a nurturing and enriching environment for our young learners. I believe in the power of both play based and hands-on learning with a focus on building a strong foundation for social, emotional and cognitive growth . I have developed strong bonds with students and families, fostering a sense of curiosity and excitement about learning from the very first day of school."  

When not in the classroom, she spends a lot of time seeking new ways to stay inspired and connecting to the world of early childhood education.  She also enjoys spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren, and enjoys gardening and traveling.
